Garden Peach Tomato

(75 days) Indeterminate - 1898. This unusual tomato produces an abundance of 3-5 oz. fruit with a slightly fuzzy yellow skin, blushed with pink. The fruit is juicy & sweet with a bit of tartness, and is an excellent keeper. One of my personal favourites.

German Pink Tomato

(85 days)Indeterminate, Potato-leaved. One of the two old Barvarian varieties that started Seed Savers' Exchange, it produces good yields of large, 1-2 lb fruits. The pinkish-red fruit is very sweet, meaty and unblemished.

Gilbertie Paste Tomato

NEW FOR 2010!! 85 days. Indeterminate. This excellent paste tomato is a Connecticut heirloom. The long, narrow red fruits with an endearing crook at their end have thick, meaty flesh and a full, rich flower. Perfect for soups and sauces.

Glacier Tomato

(55-60 days) Semi-determinate. Developed in Sweden in 1985, this extremely early tomato ripens well in cool weather, is one of the earliest tomatoes to ripen and produces an abundance of small, 2.5" red fruits with a very sweet taste for most of the season. Potato-leaved.

Green Grape Tomato

(80-90 days) 1985. Determinate. Not an heirloom, but its addictiveness has earned it a place here. This heavy-yielding variety produces an abundance of small cherry tomatoes, yellowish-green in colour, that have a sweet, tangy, outstanding flavour. According to Dr. Carolyn Male, first-time growers tend to fall in love with it. Developed by Tom Wagner.

Green Zebra Tomato

(77 Days) Indeterminate. Developed by Tom Wagner, Bakersfield, in 1983, this variety is not an heirloom, but I had to include it due to its outstanding flavour - sweet yet zingy! Fruit is shades of yellow & green, with darker green stripes.

Isis Candy Tomato

Indeterminate. (70-80 days) A family heirloom donated to Seed Savers' Exchange by Joe Bratka in 1992. I've wanted to stock this seed for a long time - I love the fact that it was named after an Egyptian goddess (note to non-Egyptologists: that would be the "Isis" part, not "Candy". Don't embarrass yourself by telling people you have a tomato named after the ancient goddess "Candy"). The fruit is definitely worthy of a goddess - tiny (3/4") red fruit swirled with gold and possessing a wonderfully sweet taste. Very productive.

Italian Heirloom Tomato

(70-80 days). Indeterminate. You get high marks if you can figure out this one’s origins- not exactly the most creative of names. However, ‘though its name may be common, its taste is memorable. It’s a favourite with many tomato afficionados for its ability to produce large yields of huge, one-pound fruits that are round, red and full of rich-bodied flavour. Good for fresh eating and canning.

Japanese Black Trifele Tomato

NEW FOR 2010!! 80 days. Indeterminate. A Russian heirloom, despite the name, that is highly-prized in Russia. Gorgeous, smooth, 6 oz, deep-mahogany fruits are distinctly pear-shaped with green shoulders, meaty yet juicy with an incredible taste. Produces prolifically. Potato-leaved. Best harvested when shoulders are still green.

Jaune Flammee Tomato

Indeterminate (70 – 80 days) A beautiful heirloom from France, this variety is unique in its colouring – a bright orange skin and a reddish-orange interior. According to Dr. Carolyn Male, the flavour “literally bursts in your mouth”. The fruit grow in clusters of about six, and are produced abundantly.

Kellogg's Breakfast Tomato

(70-80 days) Indeterminate. One of the best large, orange beefsteak tomatoes, with 1 lb fruits that are both meaty and juicy. The taste has ben described as "blockbuster". Originating in Michigan, this tomato has been in the Darryl Kellogg family for decades (and who can resist the name?).

Marmande Tomato

(70-75 days) Semi-Determinate. This is a French heirloom that is a classic slicing tomato. The semi-determinate plants are bushy and produce bright red tomatoes of medium size (6-8 oz), some with irregular shapes, that are excellent for stuffing, cooking or eating fresh.

Martino's Roma Tomato

Indeterminate. (75 days) This Italian heirloom paste tomato is a very heavy producer of 2-3”, oval, meaty red fruits that are perfect for sauce, paste & salsa. Its foliage is beautifully frilled, called “rugose”, making it attractive as well as productive. Fruit tends to fall off the plant when ripe.

Marvel Striped Orange Tomato

(90-110 days)Indeterminate - Ancient. Originally from the Zapotec people. Produces large, deeply-lobed fruit with red streaks. Very sweet, with few seeds.

Miel du Mexique Tomato

NEW FOR 2010!! 65 days. Indeterminate. An old French heirloom cherry tomato that is very popular still in France today. I can see why - this tomato did very well for us in a season that was very tomato-unfriendly. It produces an abundance of small (1-2") perfect red tomatoes that are rich and juicy with a flavour that saturates your taste buds.

Moneymaker Tomato

(80 days) Determinate. We know that this is a very old English greenhouse variety whose developer had great expectations! This tomato is a workhorse - it's prolific, producing heavy crops of deep red, perfectly round, 4-5 oz. tomatoes over a short period of time. It can also handle most weather conditions, which is sure to be a benefit, given our strange weather seasons over the last few years.
