NEW FOR 2010!! 1882. 85 days. Indeterminate. Tomato afficionados love this tomato. William Woys Weaver, legendary heirloom vegetable expert, said of it "of all the white varieties, only one stands out as truly special" and Carolyn Male considered it the best-tasting white. After growing it, we would agree. Introduced in 1882 by Livingstone, this plant is a prolific producer of large, white beefsteak-type tomatoes that are sweet and juicy. Try making a delicious white pasta sauce with it.
(80 days) Indeterminate - 1915. This large, 1 lb beefsteak-type tomato has an outstanding flavour! A family heirloom from Willis, Virginia, it has oxheart-shaped yellow-orange fruits that are meaty yet juicy and that have won taste trials of yellow tomatoes. More difficult to grow, but well worth the effort!
(70 – 80 days) Indeteminate. 1805. One of the oldest cultivated tomatoes. Visitors to the garden love this one’s taste and appearance - unusuaL, tiny pear-shaped fruits that are a brilliant yellow colour and have an excellent sweet taste. Perfect for eating on the spot or for salads. (approx. 12,000 seeds/oz)
(65 days) Indeterminate. Potato-leaved. I’m so pleased to be able to offer again this rare British heirloom! Perfect 1-2”, bright yellow, large cherry tomatoes are produced all season. The taste is phenomenal (I know, I’m a catalogue-writer – you expect to hear such accolades; but it really is!) Heavy yields.
(80-85 days) This absolutely beautiful tomato is originally from the Zapotec people of Oaxaca, Mexico. The 4-8 oz., pinkish-red fruits are deeply ribbed or ruffled, like many ancient tomato varieties, and hollow - making them perfect for stuffing and baking. The flavour is very sweet, making it also great for fresh eating. An ancient tomato, hardly seen now.
