The Cottage Gardener is an heirloom seedhouse and plant nursery in southern Ontario, Canada. We have been providing rare and endangered heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers to gardeners and market growers since 1996. Our online catalogue has almost 600 heirloom seed varieties available, in retail packet sizes and bulk amounts. We have one of the most diverse selections of Certified Organic seeds in Canada, and we add to this each year. Each spring we sell certified organic plants onsite.

Of our 650 varieties of rare and endangered heirloom seeds, 340 are certified organic. Also, for our market grower & small farmer customers, we have increased both the number of seed varieties available in bulk quantities and the size of the bulk quantities.
The camera has been clicking away this summer and we've added loads of new pictures to the site.

Many of us had a very challenging growing year in 2008. One of the attributes we've found so common to true gardeners and farmers is the ability to set aside bad experiences and exclaim "well, there's always next year! ".
